This isn’t even remotely similar to a Cadillac XTS. When luxury is paid for, we don’t expect an Impala with cloth seats, then an UPGRADE to a Maxima.
I think I’m going to try to sell my Fiesta to them, but price it at M3 territory, because they both have four doors.

How can you complain? You got upgraded from a sleepy luxobarge to a sports car!

On my last moving day I pre-ordered a Sprinter or similar LWB high roof. I got an Iveco Daily SWB high roof. They acted like “We don’t see your problem.” The loss in cargo space meant that I could barely fit the needed stuff in it, and had to leave stuff behind. I complained about that and also mentioned that it was in poor condition visually and technically. I instantly got a nice discount based on that.
Just shoot customer services an e-mail with your data and complaints, and see where it goes.

You say that like 4 doors, a CVT, and FWD cannot make something a sports car.
Oh wait, they can’t. Well...you can still pretend they do!

I just had a 10 day “luxury” rental with Hertz. I received a zero option Chrysler 300, which is in the “luxury” class. At least it had leather, XM, etc. Cadillacs are thin on the ground at Hertz right now anyway, although I know they are out there in some fleet as I see rental CTS at the workplace parking garage.
I was offered an abused looking Q50 for 25/day, but declined.

Sounds like a call or email to customer service is in order. That’s a terrible alternative to offer for a luxury car

Always roulette with rentals. You win some you lose some. Next time you’ll probably do better than what you paid for. My last rental: BMW 1-Series or similar...
FWIW, I’ve had way better luck with Avis than anyone else. I wrote off Enterprise after getting an RWD Jeep when I needed a 4x4 and very nearly got stuck in the mud.

You want to talk about remotely similar, try a Solstice to a Nissan Micra. Yes, That’s what TD Insurance consider as comparable substitute.

Rule #1 of renting a car.
You will never drive the car you rented.
